Bulletins

The France Bed Homecare Foundation engages in research, grant programs, education, and information dissemination aimed at enhancing the quality of home care and improving the living environment of individuals who require home care support.

In recent years, Japan has experienced significant demographic change, including rapid population aging, increasing care needs, and a growing emphasis on enabling individuals to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. At the same time, labor shortages among home care professionals have intensified, making it essential to secure and develop qualified personnel. These developments underscore the importance of advancing home care and related services.

To address these societal challenges, the Foundation promotes initiatives that contribute to:

  • Strengthening community-based care systems and advancing home care services
  • Supporting integrated initiatives that combine medical care, nursing care, and rehabilitation
  • Promoting the adoption and development of technologies and assistive devices

Through these efforts, the Foundation seeks to contribute to a sustainable society in which individuals can continue to live with dignity and maintain lifestyles that reflect their personal values.

Showcasing Important Cultural Properties

Furniture Museum (General Incorporated Foundation)

The Furniture Museum was established in 1972 with the cooperation of the France Bed Group to preserve and pass on furniture culture. With a clear social mission to safeguard historically significant furniture which may be lost amid rapid changes in living environments, the museum systematically collects and conserves works, curates permanent and special exhibitions, and offers hands-on educational programs for the community. In 2004, the museum relocated to Akishima, Tokyo, and today operates as a community-oriented social education facility. Beyond exhibitions, the museum advances social contribution through initiatives such as museum studies internships, workshops for elementary and junior high school students, and collaboration with local events. These activities promote its founding theme of “Tradition—Succession—Creation” and connect the cultural assets of everyday life to future generations.
